Arun Kumar Jha, senior advocate of Bhagalpur has passed away. He was about 70 years old. He died during treatment at a private hospital in the city at around 12:30 pm on Thursday. The members of the Bhagalpur District Advocates Association became mournful after receiving the information of his death. Since Friday morning, a large number of Bhagalpur lawyers reached his residence near the Bari post office and had his last darshan. Later his body was brought from his residence to the DBA campus where a large number of lawyers paid floral tributes to him by garlanding him. He left behind the world, leaving behind a son Amit Kumar, his wife. Junior advocate Vishal Kumar, who was an aide of senior advocate, told that he is saddened to lose his senior and mentor lawyer. He said that he used to help his junior lawyers a lot in the advocacy profession. On his death, DBA General Secretary Anjani Kumar Dubey, President Manoj Kumar Sahai, Senior Advocates Abhaykant Jha, Kishor Kumar Jha, including many members of the DBA Adhoc Committee, reached the residence of the late advocate and bowed to him. On his death, Assistant public prosecutors Omprakash Tiwari, Jaikaran Gupta, Bhola Kumar Mandal, Jaiprakash Yadav Vyas, Viresh Prasad Mishra, Prafulla Chandra Rahi and other lawyers expressed deep grief and called it a big loss to the Bhagalpur Bar and justice world. Following the letter issued by the DBA on Friday on the cause of his death, the advocates abstained from the functioning of the court in his honor. The lawyers told that Mr. Jha was serving as a criminal lawyer in the Bhagalpur Civil Court for more than 35 years.

भागलपुर के वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता अरुण कुमार झा  का निधन हो गया है। वे  करीब 70 वर्ष की उम्र के थे । गुरुवार देर रात करीब 12:30 बजे उनका निधन इलाज के दौरान शहर के एक निजी अस्पताल में हो गया। उनके निधन की सूचना पाकर भागलपुर जिला अधिवक्ता संघ के सदस्यगण शोकाकुल हो उठे। शुक्रवार की सुबह से ही बड़ी संख्या में भागलपुर के वकील उनके बड़ी डाकघर के समीप स्थित आवास पर पहुंचे तथा उनका अंतिम दर्शन किया। बाद में उनके शव को उनके आवास से डीबीए परिसर लाया गया जहां बड़ी संख्या में वकीलों ने पुष्प माला चढ़ाकर उन्हें भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि दी। वे अपने पीछे पत्नी समते एक पुत्र अमित कुमार को छोड़कर दुनिया से विदा हो गए। वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता के सहयोगी रहे जूनियर अधिवक्ता विशाल कुमार ने बताया कि वे अपने सीनियर व गुरु वकील को खोकर शोकाकुल हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि वकालत के पेशे में वे अपने जूनियर वकीलों की भरपूर मदद करते थे। उनके निधन पर डीबीए के महासचिव अंजनि कुमार दूबे, अध्यक्ष मनोज कुमार सहाय, वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता अभयकांत झा, किशोर कुमार झा, समेत डीबीए एडहॉक कमेटी के कई सदस्यों ने  दिवंगत अधिवक्ता के आवास पर पहुंचकर उन्हें नमन किया। उनके निधन पर सरकारी वकील ओमप्रकाश तिवारी ,जयकरण गुप्ता, भोला कुमार मंडल ,जयप्रकाश यादव व्यास, वीरेश प्रसाद मिश्रा, प्रफुल्ल चंद्र राही समेत अन्य वकीलों ने गहरा दुख जताते हुए इसे भागलपुर न्याय जगत को बड़ी क्षति बताया। उनके निधन के कारण शुक्रवार को डीबीए के जारी पत्र के बाद अधिवक्ताओं ने उनके सम्मान में खुद को अदालत के कामकाज से अलग रखा। वकीलों ने बताया कि स्व. झा करीब 35 साल से अधिक समय से भागलपुर सिविल कोर्ट में क्रिमिनल लॉयर के रूप में अपनी सेवा दे रहे थे।
